Our 'At Need' Funeral Plan & Disbursement Guide
(With extract of our Terms & Conditions)

“We always endeavour to have the same Funeral Director see you through from the start of the arrangements to the final part of the service, and to treat every family and their loved one as though they were a member of our own family”
Funeral Directors' estimates and final invoices generally consist of two parts. The first part is the Funeral Directors’ Service for the arrangements they carry out (the hearse, limousines, coffin, staffing etc.). The second part is for the Disbursements or Third Party Payments made by the Funeral Home on behalf of the family (the crematorium, church, notice in the paper, flowers etc.). These two parts are generally added together to make up the complete final invoice for the funeral.
At Arthur Gresty Funeral homes, we request full payment within 3 months of the funeral date. In order to accommodate this and to cover the bank charges incurred in paying these fees, we add a service charge to the total disbursements (only). However, if the invoice is settled straight away, there is a discount allowable, *generally greater than the service charge (*dependent on the value of the disbursements).

The 'Simple' Funeral Service
In accordance with the advice and guidance of the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD) and the National Society of Allied Independent Funeral Directors (SAIF), we offer a Simple Funeral Service to assist those with financial constraints, dependent on the DWP for assistance or left making arrangements when there is no or very little estate available towards the funeral.
This service offers the collection of the deceased during office hours, a simple coffin and gown, a hearse and staff, with a simple funeral service at a local Crematorium or Cemetery.
Please note that the DWP will normally pay the expenses of the Crematorium or Cemetery and usually a minister. Other items are not guaranteed and the Funeral Directors’ expenses will only be covered by a certain percentage. There is normally a shortfall liable by the person who signs the contract with the Funeral Director and who applies for the funeral to take place.
We would normally require pre-payment of the disbursement charges.
For full details on our Simple Funeral Service, please contact one of our local offices.
